One of the most important component parts of the modern clarinet is the mouthpiece. When we played together using the Interclarinet mouthpiece, I listened to my colleagues playing in the ensemble and noticed the tone colour of their instruments. We use the same model instruments, from the same manufacturer, and yet our sound is different. Together with our colleague in the ensemble, Johannes Gleichweit, we decided to adopt the benefits of the Frank mouthpieces for the Boehm system clarinets. We made some models on the basis of my experience, first for myself, but after I came home my Hungarian colleagues almost took the mouthpieces out of my clarinet case. They have a soft, warm tone colour, solid intonation, even in case of extreme dynamics, you feel comfortable, as if your clarinet shapes up.
