Company

The company. The maxton Gleichweit-Fluch-GmbH was founded by  Johannes Gleichweit and Martin Fluch. The company is thus an expansion of the individual enterprise „interclarinetshop“ (owner: Johannes Gleichweit) that has been in existence since 2001. maxton specialises in the production of high quality clarinet mouthpieces as well as the distribution and sales of clarinets, saxophones and their auxilliary equipment.

Expert know-how. As members of the Radio Symphony Orchestra Vienna, which is the only leading Austrian orchestra that includes contemporary works in its standard repertoire, Johannes Gleichweit and Martin Fluch have a great command over both instrument technical as well as musical expertise. The demands that musicians and their instruments are faced with gave the initial impulses for this intense occupation with the predominant part of the clarinet - the mouthpiece.

Technical innovation. Based on many years of research, Johannes Gleichweit has developed a method that considerably optimises the sound characteristics of the clarinet. The mouthpiece is modified accordingly using high-tech equipment. The facing gradients of favourite, established clarinetists can - using a newly developed milling technique - be copied on to both new mouthpieces as well as older ones that have been impaired by frequent use.
